If your character level is above 40, and your character level is higher than the level of the item you are crafting, the experience gained will vary based on the level difference.

As the gap between character level and item level widens, the gained experience decreases. If the experience decreases, a message is displayed when creating the items. 

For optimal experience point gain, it is recommended to craft items that are similar in level to your character's level.
